Use PQ325E for large municipal and industrial pipe inspection

The crawler is intended for CCTV documentation of visible defects in sewer, stormwater, drainage and suitable industrial pipelines. Common records include cracks, displaced joints, sediment, roots, corrosion, deformation, infiltration and obstructions.

DN250 is a model-selection starting point, not a guarantee that the crawler will pass every nominal DN250 line. Measure the real internal clearance and report liners, offsets, bends, water, silt and access-opening dimensions before ordering.

Match camera coverage and wheels to the pipe condition

The adjustable front camera supports a broader controlled view of the wall, crown, joints and defects, while the rear camera helps the operator observe the crawler and tether. Lighting, lens cleanliness, travel speed and water clarity still determine whether the recording is useful.

Three published wheel sizes let the team adapt ground clearance and traction. Select the smallest wheel that preserves safe clearance and the larger set only when the pipe and obstacles justify it. Stop if the crawler loses traction, snags or cannot return under controlled cable tension.

03 · Recording workflow

Create distance-linked inspection evidence

Run a complete dry-ground test of steering, camera movement, lights, photos, video, distance counter, reel and emergency stop before lowering the crawler. Enter project information and verify that the original files are being stored correctly.

During the outbound survey, move slowly enough to keep a stable image, pause at each condition and record its distance. Back up the original video and prepare a defect log that links distance, image, description and follow-up action.

04 · Field safety

Keep personnel out of confined spaces unless a compliant entry system is in place

Treat manholes and sewers as potential toxic-gas, biological, fall, traffic and electrical hazards. Isolate the work area, assess the atmosphere and follow local confined-space rules. The crawler reduces exposure but does not remove the need for a rescue and retrieval plan.

Keep chargers and power equipment dry and above ground. Inspect insulation and connectors, avoid uncontrolled cable pulling, and stop on smoke, overheating, leakage, abnormal noise or damaged seals. Clean and inspect the robot after wastewater exposure.
