PQWT-GT500A 500 m Groundwater Detector

The PQWT-GT500A is intended for deeper groundwater screening with repeat profiles and stored survey records. The selected model configuration has a manufacturer-stated range of Up to 500 m.

The GT platform acquires multiple channels and frequencies at the same time and converts the readings into curves, geological profile maps and 3D renderings. The auxiliary analysis highlights abnormal areas for review; the operator still needs to compare the anomaly with terrain, geology and nearby borehole information.

Collect geological maps, nearby well depths and yields, topography and seasonal information before going to the field. Mark power lines, fences, buried utilities and other possible interference. Whenever possible, place the survey line across the expected geological structure rather than along it.

Install the electrodes at consistent spacing, check all connections and collect the first profile. Repeat doubtful points and run a parallel or cross-line to see whether the anomaly is continuous. Save coordinates, line direction, spacing, terrain and weather with each data set.

Automatic mapping improves speed and consistency, but a colored low-value or high-value zone is not a universal water symbol. Moisture, fractures, clay, salinity, lithological changes, cavities and human-made interference can all change the measured response.

A stronger target is continuous across adjacent points, repeats on another line and fits a plausible hydrogeological structure. Review curve behavior, profile continuity and the 3D view together instead of relying on one image or one color band.

The Up to 500 m designation is a manufacturer-stated investigation range. It does not mean groundwater is present at that depth and it does not directly measure well yield, static water level or drilling success.

Confidence depends on geology, survey geometry, interference, data quality and interpretation. Deep or high-cost drilling decisions should involve a hydrogeologist or experienced geophysicist and should use local borehole records whenever available.
