PQWT-TC300 automatic groundwater detector: selection and field workflow

The PQWT-TC300 is a portable groundwater survey instrument with a stated investigation range up to 300 m and automatic curve and geological profile mapping. This page explains its intended use, the information needed before a survey and the checks required before a borehole target is selected.

01 · Intended use

What the TC300 contributes to a groundwater survey

The TC300 records measurements along a survey line and converts them into curves and profile maps. Operators use these outputs to compare changes that may relate to fractures, faults, weathered zones or contrasts between geological layers.

It does not directly photograph groundwater or guarantee a successful well. The strongest use case is preliminary screening in which profiles are checked against topography, local geology, nearby well logs and repeated lines before drilling resources are committed.

  • Rural, agricultural and community water-supply planning
  • Comparison of several possible borehole locations
  • Field screening by trained drilling and hydrogeology teams
  • Projects where survey records can be checked against existing wells
02
02 · Field preparation

Plan repeatable lines before collecting data

Collect available geology, nearby well depths and yields, terrain information and known sources of electrical interference. Choose lines that cross the expected structure where access permits, and use consistent station spacing and operating procedure.

When a possible anomaly appears, repeat questionable points and run a parallel or cross-line. Record coordinates, direction, relief and site conditions so the profile can be reviewed later rather than interpreted as an isolated image.

  • Define the required water use and realistic drilling interval
  • Keep point spacing and measurement procedure consistent
  • Repeat anomalies from another line or direction
  • Compare the result with geology and nearby borehole evidence
03
03 · Interpretation

Treat a profile anomaly as evidence to test—not proof of water

A profile contrast may be associated with moisture or fractured rock, but clay, salinity, lithology, buried infrastructure and measurement interference can also produce changes. No universal color should be interpreted as groundwater in every site.

The 300 m designation is the model's stated maximum investigation range. It is not an automatic water-level measurement and does not mean groundwater exists at that depth. Confidence depends on geology, data quality, repeatability and operator judgment.

Send project facts before choosing TC300

For a useful recommendation, send the country, intended water use, target drilling depth, terrain, known geology and nearby well information. The formal quotation then confirms the model, accessories, export price, shipping method, training and estimated lead time.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the stated detection range of the PQWT-TC300?+

The model has a stated investigation range up to 300 m. This is not a guarantee that water is present at 300 m or that a borehole should be drilled to that depth.

Does the TC300 automatically choose the drilling point?+

No. It generates curves and profile maps that require comparison with repeated lines, local geology, terrain and nearby well information.

What information is needed for a model recommendation?+

Provide the project country, target depth, terrain, known geology, nearby well depths and yields, intended water use and required quantity.

Can one survey line confirm groundwater?+

A single line is not strong confirmation. Repeat questionable points and use a parallel or cross-line to test whether an anomaly is consistent.

Are training and warranty included?+

Remote operating guidance and technical support are available with a standard two-year warranty. Exact service and package details are confirmed in the formal quotation.
